Stan Takes to the Track with Caterham Racing Team

At Stan, we’re always looking for new ways to champion better roads for everyone, from daily commuters and learner drivers to cyclists, families and weekend motorists.

That’s why we’re excited to support Crawley Racing Team during two major Caterham race weekends at Donington Park and Oulton Park, as part of the Caterham Seven 270R Championship.

At first glance, pothole reporting and Caterham racing might seem like two very different worlds. But both are built around the same simple idea: better visibility leads to better decisions.

On the track, drivers rely on precision, awareness and split-second judgement to perform at their best. On the road, drivers need safe, reliable surfaces and clear information about the issues affecting their journeys.

That’s where Stan comes in.

Stan is a free app that helps people report potholes and other road defects using their smartphone. Reports include useful details such as location and imagery, helping build a clearer picture of road condition issues across the UK. Stan also uses computer vision technology to help identify defects and support more effective reporting to the relevant road owners.

What is the Caterham Seven 270R championship?

The Caterham Seven 270R Championship is a UK-based racing series featuring small, lightweight, open-top Caterham Seven sports cars. The cars are closely matched, which means success depends heavily on the driver's skill, judgement and the ability to perform under pressure.

The Caterham Seven 270R Championship is designed for experienced drivers who have graduated from the Caterham Academy and Roadsport series. It allows professional team support and features fiercely contested 20-minute races across top-tier UK circuits.

It is close, competitive and highly engaging racing, where every corner matters and every decision can make a difference.

The Crawley Racing Team has demonstrated strong progression in recent seasons, with continued championship development and podium success, making the partnership a natural fit for SmartVision’s own commitment to innovation, improvement and real-world performance.

Our team will be at Donington Park on Saturday 20 June and Oulton Park on Saturday 17 August to show our support for the Crawley Racing Team during the championship. If you would like to be part of the action, please contact us for further details.

We look forward to sharing more from behind the scenes as the season gets underway.
